Abstract

In order to clarify the histological characteristics of suture, morphological changes to expansive force in the sagittal suture of the 2-month-old mouse (ICR) were examined chronologically and histologically with light and scanning electron
microscopy.
@ES The results were as follows :
@EN 1. The fiber bundles, which connect the right bone with the left and disentangled after expansion.
2. A new bone formation is observed at dura mater and sutural surface after expansion.
3. The sutural surface is regenerated and keep normal distance between bones after expansion, sion.
4. Many fiber bundles of 5-10 § in diameter are embedded in the regenerated sutural surface after expansion.
